I was just messing around and walking around campus while people were shooting. But then, as I kept walking around, I realized how similar some completely different buildings looked. The different
parts of the walkway went together. The stairs of the language building and the gym stairways ar the same. I figured I could do a good enough job being on camera and doing the same thing every time.I
also didn't want to spend on other poeople for such a limited time production. So I filmed myself with my phone on an adjustable stand while I just waked around campus. I shot fromdifferent anglesand
made my movements nearly identical to help with continuity. I tried to map out how I would link the shits together to creat one continuous flowing film. Then, instead of myinitial idea offilming
myself or someone else shooting baskets, I ended with a shot walking into the gym but only peaking through the door, implying the shots being taken and creating somesuspense.
The editing went pretty well and it was fun adding sound effects and timing up the transition perfectly. I only came up with the idea to have the crowd noise by the very end of editing. And then
I thought it would be fun, even if it wasn't really used, to turn it into a hype video for our first basketball game. I think it was a surprisingly good video promoting a game that isn't even
going to happen while using only my phone to film.
